The Woman With Blue Eyes
She had a smile that was contagious.
One crooked tooth in her bottom jaw.
Her aura, overzealous...
And never "sorry" for the joy she caused.
Her laughter rang louder than thunder, and her spirit lighter than rain.
I wonder if I'll ever see her shining face again.
She danced under the stars, as if she could hear them sing a song.
Her eyes were bright with wonder.
Fairy tales were her religion,
and God was just her mom.
Blueberry skies were in her eyes, and not a soul could look away.
She'd sneak a cigarette now and then, in hopes to ease the heartache.
Her warmth it kept me grounded, while her pain, it brought me tears.
She'd lie through her teeth, but it tasted sweet, for just a few short years.
She fought with the weight of the world, and felt urge to shake free.
I love her still, though she has passed, I feel her still with me
